Just another 5% down or so to go before we get down to one year low (around 88 to 90 in the OSX). I guess I can hang in there for that. Next support is around 72 or so. I'm not hangin for that (I'm already hung for about a 25% loss).

Big Dog, Under the circumstances of declining dayrates and perhaps lower utilization, the equipment and fabrications companies would presumably do better. Unfortunately, most carry relatively high PE's compared to the drillers. So while their business may continue to do well, the stock prices may continue vulnerable. Similarly with the deep drillers, which should continue to do well, but may get their prices trimmed. During big selloffs like this, good and bad get oversold in the rush to the exit.
You are right that all this hinges on where the price of oil goes. With negatives around declining demand overshadowing hopes for OPEC production reductions, the view from here looks kind of dismal. But that can change, and if OPEC does come up with enough agreement to actually lift oil prices, we should see a major rally. Unfortunately, this sector is currently the weak spot in a shaky market, so the momentum seems more down than up.
But....
TCMS, my current favorite, is one of the few green items on my list of oil-related companies today.
good luck to all,
Baird

Gutsy couple of Posts, Big. Took courage, but we already knew you had that. Hopefully, your warning will prove unneeded. Maybe (hopefully) this is merely the calm before the storm, i.e., Drillers On Sale!

Seldom see any reference here to Insider Sales. FWIW, the YAHOO Message Boards are now providing "INSIDER SALES" data. Today, is the first day I've noticed it being available. For instance, as FGII is one of the most popular companies followed here, I checked it out and learned J.L Holloway sold 205,600 common shares at $40.27 on 30 Apr 98. Stated an intention to sell 400,000 shares on 29 Apr 98, etc.

To access, go to the "profile" and click on "Insider Trades."

If this information has been previously posted here, I apologize for the duplication.
