Murphy has been somewhat inconsistent in the immediate success of his stock picks. I agree with him about Informix overall, but unless something dramatic happens (sales, profits, new customers up significantly more than forecasted), $28 is very aggressive for 1998 or 12 month window. That would be aggressive for an acquisition, at least until Informix sales & profits demonstrate a major up trend.

Michael Murphy's advice has been quite bad sometimes for me. He loved CRUS, had a target of 20, then called it a hold at 11; now it's 9.
On the other hand, I hear enough good things about IFMX from other sources; this time Murphy may be correct.
