Inktomi had revenues of $5.8M and losses of ($8.7M) for '97.

They must be expected to grow very quickly I guess. :-)


Don't underestimate INKT. Their bloodlines go back to UCBerkeley and the development of ARPANet. All the search engines use their databases, and AOL is their biggest account. They also have caching technologies not as far along in development.

I've watched this company for a couple years and am the proud owner of 150 shares at the IPO --- enough to pay for dinner. :)

Actually, I had a lot of fun yesterday as I just happened to stop by the Inktomi booth just before it hit. "Aren't you coming public any minute?" I asked. The young man broke into a big grin and said, 'Yes! We're waiting for it right now." Within minutes it came out, hitting at 30 and moving up from there. If excitement were explosive, the Inktomi staff could have ignited an atomic blast.
