More thoughts on ERES.

As I dig around the Cox website (ERES), I'm learning more about FreshTags and the other products that their Vitsab division makes.

1. There has always been a problem with visually inspecting fresh meats and seafood, so the Freshtags can actually assist the USDA inspectors (especially with fewer of them). Since Freshtags are approved by the FDA, they have a chance at being "encouraged" by the USDA meat inspectors.

2. Vitsab makes indicators that can be built into the packaging of salads, yogurt, and other products that can REPLACE THE DATE STAMP! Supermarkets discard a lot of expired date stamped products which are in fact, not really bad. If a product is handled and stored correctly, it's freshness may actually be extended over the "average" shelf life (which is used to calculate the date stamp). This could be a big saver to the supermarkets.
