SERVICE SECTOR / OTACO Inc. Not Proceding With Share Consolidation

CALGARY, June 10 /CNW/ - OTATCO Inc. wishes to announce that the 5:1
share consolidation proposed at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders
held June 5, 1998 was withdrawn.

Management was of the opinion that under current market conditions, a
share consolidation would not be in the best interests of shareholders because
the post-consolidation market capitalization would likely be less than the
current market capitalization. OTATCO currently has 42,059,951 Common Shares
outstanding.

OTATCO is an oilfield production services and technology company listed
on the Alberta Stock Exchange (symbol: OTI).
