That sucks. I think you are right about the short covering. Look like somebody with mega shares shorted said that's it, cover all my shorts at the market. Didn't hear the announcement from GTW. Seems like market usually ignores stuff like that, but in this case where GTW dropped on no GTW specific news (just technology market)I think it will get a favorable rebound. Probably would have rebounded anyways from short term dip fishers.

K22

put in my short at the market and it took at 49 15/16
and right after it started running up like hell. What was that all about, does any one
know?

YES. I know. Next time you plan on shorting why dont you let us know and we will wait for it to go up and get the higher price to short.

Havent you realized it yet. They are watching you. They are always watching you. Soon as you enter, they will try and scare you into getting out at a loss. MANY many people do. Thats how MM's make their money. They all wait and watch for you to act. They know you will

ps - you is generic amateur trader

Keith, GTW was at some sort of Piper Jaffery (I believe) tech conference in Minneapolis. I believe it was the CFO that actually made the comments regarding meeting expectations of 44 cents, but that they were having a disappointing experience in getting into the corporate market. I would suspect the spike up was some sort of positive reaction to the initial comments in the conference, like not giving an earnings warning. Then the overall market started to tank and GTW followed in near lock step, which was also about the time the GTW comments hit the wires.

I think ALR is going poorly and business side of market is nothing to look forward to. Upon reflection many will conclude the outlook going forward is "challenging" and not worth all time stock valuations.
