I do, but what is your take for the CURRENT quarter ?
Paul Fiondella indicated the PII price cut is the
"last gasp" to rescue the quarter. I don't seem to
have seen any comments to that ?

On the other hand it's interesting the stock
wasn't hammered down yesterday after MSDW
downgrade but today.

That's right. And Intel isn't prone to exaggeration like those fellas at AMD and Cyrix. Those guys live by the response "Just wait 'till next qtr."

You don't believe Craig Barrett's 2H98 for the start of an upturn? He's said it twice now, in front of a lot of people with microphones. Xeon will lead the way back.

Hope springs eternal . . .

You don't believe Craig Barrett's 2H98 for the start of an upturn?

I should answer this more fully . . . Why would there be an upturn
in H2? Don't focus on Xeon, look at the demand side - will the
demand for high end machines increase, stay flat, or decrease? Will
the price war continue and spread to the business and high end markets, or will is stay in the retail sector? Will the economies in Asia, Europe and North America get better, stay about the same, or get worse?

These are the factors which are depressing Intel's profits.
