It certainly has been exciting the last couple of days. It seems to me that the major unknown at this time is "Why has it taken almost one year from FDA approval to get the device to market?"

I have no information, but I will offer one hypothesis. We know the Colormate product was approved by the FDA. (My understanding that they found it to be substantially equilvalent to the blood test.)

I would think that one of the first efforts that CCSI took on after approval was to develop the smaller, hand-held model that could be produced in higher quantities. Until the prototype was developed and the manufacturing questions answered (where, how much does it cost to make in volume, ramp-up time, etc) a prudent distributor or partner could not have a complete picture.

I believe that CCSI announced the new unit Bilichk or whatever at about the same time that the New Orleans meeting was annouced (March or April 98). This is also consistent with what someone else posted today that Darby said the unit was targeted for the 1st quarter of 98. With that accomplished CCSI could move into full negotiations with their partner or partners. Assuming the input from others on this board is correct that the deal is being documented by the lawyers (do your own DD on this to make your own judgement), then an announcement should be anytime now.

CCSI and their partners are probably working under fairly strict confidentiality agreements. Especially with the recent notice given CCSI, I am sure they are quite concerned about "inside info" being leaked.

Take this scenario as you will. I just got tired of reading all of the trash between the shorts and longs. This board reads like a school yard full of kids. Although I think my kids would probably be more civil.
