The summer slump will hit harder as the summer wears on. The success of the CPQ new cheap internet box in the fall will make sales of chips ramp up in Late July and August. Apparently the socket will survive as the slot 1 premium is so high as to allow the low ends machines to win when based on AMD chips instead of celeron. That cost differential is on the order of $50 from what I see and that is about 10% of RMC on a CPQ box. So sales might just slump some more and drag AMD lower so dollar cost average buy time should wait until July. Am I right? who knows? Bill
