Page views at Amazon have decreased according to Relevent
Knowledge. <<

Glenn, i saw that earlier, i don't know what
that really means yet. Could it mean that they have streamline there site better for the public with their one click through service. It could mean alot of different things. Would it be more relevant if Amzn was a portal site. Any ideas on that.

The landscape has changed a lot since last quarter. BKS has become an
agressive advertiser. Borders did open their site although it is clear it is not
quite ready. <<
I still think they have that 6 to 12 month edge over the competition. It will get interesting over the next 2 to 3 qtrs.

One thing about the internet, if you advertise the heck out of somthing those of us online will go there. Period the end. I.E. Amazon.. With all the dough they are spending how could us small feeble people resist the urge to at least take a peak??

Another example: The Street.com I bet everyone here on S.I. has at least visited it.. How many subscribers?? Went once or twice, decided it was not worth the money no more page hits from me..

The question is, can you get em to come back?? When you stop advertising what have you got? Do your page hits get cut in half overnight?? YHOO yes, there is actual stuff to do there. Functional, bring you back type of stuff.. How many fricken books does the average person buy in a yea. Excluding college kids, I bet it is less than one book per family per year.....

People in this country are illiterate.. (and I can't spell but who cares).
