Market Update This week the DOW rallied some however, the NYSE BP moved lower. This means that fewer stocks are carrying the DOW in the rally. This is great if you own those few stocks, but perhaps you don't and your portfolio is looking a little tired. This is why we watch the NYSE BP not the DOW tic on CNBC. With it still moving lower you need to exercise caution. Stealing from DWA :-) a little tidbit. Since early April, the Dow Industrials are basically flat. However, during that same time frame, the NYSE Advance-Decline Line has fallen by 8,100 issues. In other words, 8,100 more stocks declined than advanced during the past couple of months. That isn't particularly good when you consider the Dow is flat. Also, the NYSE BP is down 18% and the Optional bullish percent has declined almost 30% while the Dow is flat or "within one good strong up day from making new highs." The OTC (over the counter) BP also fell this week meaning most of the Nasdaq issues were giving sell instead of buy signals. Two new sectors have been added (both in O's): Asia Pacific 20% Europe 84% More on sectors later. Take care out there.
