oooo I did that when I was a kid!!!!

This guy was a Pro Engineer at Newark College of Engineering. Had a Ph. D from NYU. When I was getting my Bachelor's degree we became friends and years later we swapped ideas about our Apple }{ s in the late '70s.

So he blew his up once....he had about 5 grand worth of stuff in his Apple }{.

It took us about $70 and a few trips to an electronic second hand shop to fix his machine....he did the same thing, tried to re-seat a board while the power was on.

It's crazy when you get too close to these machines, if you know what I mean.

That's why I had children! Now, if the machine blows up..."Hey Pat, fix this g***** thing, fer chrissake." He knows he has to fix it, if not then I get his machine.

OK OK
for all of you making fun of me

now you know for sure how computer illiterate I am
and can just picture me asking Dell where the seeds were suppose to go

seriously
I did everything correctly...and no, the computer/monitor wasnt plugged into the wall

the computer boots up but it signals no video card(with Dells beeping signal)
so the guy is going to be out today to insert the new video card
he called and said he could be there about 2
and I said forget that....the market is going crazy ...I have puts...and I need a computer...so he will come after the market closes and HOPEFULLY this will solve the problem...

if not....I will need a new motherboard

it hacks me off because if they had just sent me the technician I would have had a computer in the interim and I DID NOT WANT TO OPEN THAT BOX

I asked the tech would could have caused this and he said sometimes lifting it out will just complete the defect....uhhhh...yeah...right...

and David Weis can attest to just how close I was to tears over this whole thing because he called right after I blew the computer
