mph,

Thanks for compiling the list -- great job! It is good to be reminded that there are positive measures that we can take in these difficult times.

It occurs to me though, that practically and realistically speaking, using Big Dog's pool as a storage container for crude oil will not make a material difference in the present situation. So, what I'm thinking is, why don't we load up the vestal virgins, candles, and other sacrificial offerings, the helium balloons, the moaners & complainers, the Viagra, the brown ale, the Schlitz, the St. Johns Wort, and the monkeys (let's not forget the monkeys) - and all head on over to Big Dog's pool for the rig party? Naturally, Big Dog may wish to volunteer the pool of one of his less well liked neighbors (or his best friend) for the event -- we can do it 60's style and "liberate" it in order to create a People's Park. Sure, with this combination, certain standards of decency and decorum are likely to violated (at the very least), as well as a few local ordinances, but hey -- I think it might just take our minds off the current situation. (Does anyone know if web access to online brokers is currently available in Texas prisons, and do you suppose they have those really fast cable modems?)
