Well, sounds like Quest is going to come out of the chutes very strong. An awful lot of the channel checks on the AOL boards are turning up good news--seeing some real jumps in the signup sheets and enthusiasm among clerks about how well the game will sell the first week. If THQ ships 300,000-400,000 (30-40 copies per retail location) and only reserves its typical 10% or less, we shall be seeing another blowout quarter. THQ seems like a very safe investment right now.

Some posts from today:

I'm out in OHIO and just got back from the software etc. They will have Quest in tomorrow and have 54 people signed up.

This is the highest I've heard. I recently completed an auction on E-bay with some guy who was really into video games. We get the chatting since he was a follow AOL user. Without him knowing I'm a THQ shareholder, I changed the topic to the release of Quest 64 today/tomorrow. He told me that the waiting list for "that game" was at 98 or so at a EB in Rhode Island. That was from a few days ago too! The EB told him the first 100 or
150 will probably just be for preorders.
