James,

personally, i think when people like you try to tout the stock in the face of incredibly difficult industry conditions (see recent posts on Intel i740 flooding the market and destroying margins except at tdfx), then you are playing the greater fool theory.

You are looking for a greater fool to dump your overpriced stock on.

Instead of looking for ex post information to post and to tout, try a more forward approach.

Look at the industry. List all the players. Define their positions within the industry.

Based upon total unit sales of 110 million units, how many chips will each player sell? what will their ASPs be?

I think when you do this exercise, you will see that S3 does have a higher intrinsic value going forward in the next 3 years. However, if you were looking for a quick buck, you got trapped for about 6 months of pain.

But if you have an 18 month perspective, I think you will triple your money.

i know my reasoning is hazy, but I'm sleepy.

good luck, hang tight, sell calls...

BL
