In the Silicon Valley or the general tech job market is so short of engineers that their resumes are always in circulation. Employee retention is difficult nowadays. The key is whether the company has the funding to bring the products out. They can sell Sierra and raise cash. The bottom line is whether they can bring REAL products to market. The price seems to have stabilized. Ram

Morale is at a all time low.
I have friends that are here on H1 visa status, and they are just plane scared. Looks like they may get paychecks on Monday so they'll have a few more weeks.

And as far as the chip forget it, there are so many reasons it won't work it's not even funny. Three design houses have failed, Three ASIC managers have failed. The thing will never meet it's timing requirements, and the IC team has just given up, most of them are not showing up for work at all.

The only hope for this company is if they can complete the products that my team designed. But as for a chip no hope of seeing any thing this year. They might get smart and take the ME and some RISC core and come out with something in late 1999. That was my suggestion 18 months ago, but Koz was to stupid to listen.

You know it's kind of funny but when things get tough Koz can't be found. He didn't even have the balls to fire me face to face, he called me from Paris. The real reason I was "fired" is simple for the last 18 months I've been saying that his gecko chip will never work and Koz and Anderson got tired of hearing it. Koz is good a laying on the bull but he has not done any real engineering work in years, and for his management abilities how could any one spend 700,000 to go to a trade show with no products and two months later not be able to make payroll.

It's funny now that it's all said and done that it's my ideas, my encoder board, my software architectures and the employees that I hired that will save this company if it can be saved.

It was fun while it lasted but I think it's over now. Sorry Alex hope you don't lose to much but your wonder chip is in truth nothing but a bunch of hype.

I'm not bitter, I'll be getting my first paycheck in the morning and a new car in the afternoon. And just in case anyone was wandering were I went.
My new home is with VLSI Technology and my new title is
Manager of ASIC Systems Architectures and Validation in the Consumer Digital Entertainment Group.

What a great time to get options in a real company with real management and a real track record.
