Jeremic...Thanks for the update and that MOST discouraging report on WestSMELL.

How did ALA's DMT DSLAM work? No problems, some problems or lots of problems?

Seems like ALA is going to end up being KING and WSTL...the JOKER!

<potential customers>...what a JOKE! They are all ALA's Customers!

Jeremic, thanks a million for the info. I have a question, how about Alcatel being a source of chips for Westell? Is that out of the question? With Alcatel's new relationship with DSC that might be a reasonable possibility. DR.TECH any comment? Bill c.?

All the best,
Michael

ALA mentioned Hayes at Supercom as a strategic partner. Can anyone explain why Hayes continues to get creamed as ALA dominates the ADSL rollout? Just what role would Hayes play with 4th generation Mietec? It's shaping up as if LU is the only gorilla that can contest ALA--and they're really high on their new cable. Maybe, in the future, the Justice Dept. will be sueing ALA for monopolism. sg

Hi J,

Thanks for the info. Just one comment.

2.) Alcatel has a DMT chip that is being mass produced and being sent to customers in quantity NOW

1997 CeBIT show their DSL demonstrator, some sales idiot from Belgium, told me almost exactly the same thing. What a pack of lies. What makes me think their still not lying? Nothing! I don't believe a word they say.

jeremic--

that was about the consensus i think. ALA appears to be stronger than once thought. this is indeed intersting.

oh well, i guess i can now go ahead and write off the investment.

to all, its been nice hanging on, but LU is going to screw us, IMHO.

good luck to all,
trey
