Columbia House and BMG have been online for years. It works pretty good because you can answer your mailing right online instead of sending the post card back.
Hey.... anyone here want to sign up? I can get 4 more CDs for free if I sign up a friend :-)

Doesn't Bertelsmann own BMG? BTW, almost all of my CD collection came from BMG. Buy one, get eight. Sign up a friend, get four more. Go on "positive response", and you don't even have to mail in the "no, I don't want it" slip. If they don't have something I want, Best Buy and Circuit City have great prices and Tower Records has a great selection. Who needs CDNow, much less AMZN?
