Keep up the Great work,

XON has held up very well in the face of declining oil and has simply pulled back on its chart to a good buy level.

OK, but isn't this a bit of a contradiction with P&F basics...or am I confused (likely)??? When I look at XON's DWA chart I see that the RS has been on sell signal since 1989, the RS is currently in a column of O's, and the sector BP is in disarray (risk is Bear Confirmed and falling of late). So, how do we get to recommending XON from P&F perspective? Am I missing something? Thanks, Greg

Tom,
Thanks for the reply.
Picked up your book this weekend and am slowly working through it.
Especially appreciate the story of your realization after years of stock brokering that you really knew nothing about picking stocks. As I read that passage a light turned on in may head with the sudden awareness that I have been operating under a similar cloud.

I have a long way to go to master P&F (and thanks to Jan I have a good start), but I am slowly gaining a (heretofore lacking) sense of confidence in judging stock candidates that comes from the disciplined, common sense approach P&F provides. If only I had made this discovery a while back I'm certain I would have minimized, if not avoided entirely, some of the big mistakes I made while floundering around in the darkness of random chance stock picking!

Tom , could you share your views on picking stocks at a time like this. Are we better off selecting strong stocks in a weak sector or strong stocks in a strong sector? I can't help but be drawn to stocks like LU, CSCO, AMGN, WCOM and others that have performed so well during this correction. Do you have an opinion? Thanks.
