TechWorks Slashes Power3D Prices - Rebate Program in Retail Stores
AUSTIN, Texas - June 8, 1998 - TechWorks, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of computer performance enhancement products, today slashed the retail price of the award-winning Power3D graphics accelerator card based on 3Dfx Voodoo chipset. Both the Mac and PC versions of the card will be affected. The Power3D for the Mac retail price will drop from $229 to $149. The Power3D for the PC price will drop from $159 to $119.
TechWorks' Power3D graphics accelerator for the Mac sells direct from TechWorks or through retail outlets including CompUSA and Microcenter. From early June through July 31, 1998, customers who purchase the Mac Power3D card from CompUSA or Microcenter, will be eligible for a mail in rebate coupon of $50. This takes the price of the Power3D card for the Mac, effectively down to $99. Prices may vary from store to store. To be eligible for the $50 rebate coupon, customers need to purchase their Power3D card for the Mac from CompUSA or Microcenter stores in the U.S. Details and rebate coupons available at CompUSA and Microcenter stores.
Designed to give customers the top performance available for Mac and Windows 95 games, this game card is designed with 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics technology. The Power3D supports 640x480 full-screen, works with existing 2D video, the anti-aliasing feature eliminates 'jagged' edges, the perspective correction enhances realism, the MIP mapping eliminates texture 'sparkling', plus it supports 3Dfx native Mac Glide API.
The Power3D graphics accelerator has won numerous awards including Macworld Magazine Editor's Choice Finalist, 5 Apples from Mac Home Journal, a 4 1/2 rating from Mac Today, and the 'Freakin' Awesome' Award from Mac Addict Magazine.
