Gregg - you're right on on whether or not the Chicken Littles understand the implications of the announcement, let alone the differences in the base vs. mobile component issues. Everyone is watching Q and its market position so closely (just see the number of posts on this vs. other related companies) that it is being whipsawed by quasi-technical analysts. Opinions on these subjects are as common as butt cracks - EVERYBODY has one. Thank you, Gregg for trying to keep the swarm under control.

Greg A few clarifications First: I am long Qcom, in a big way for me. second:I agree with your assessment of qcom today, and am buying, and have buy orders in almost doubling my position Third:I apologize because my message originally was poorly thought out. I understand the press release fine, im getting hammered because I have the stupid stock. What I meant to simply ask was How much of this impact was do to Qcom in your opinion, and from your sources. I am holding my SAWS because I think this problem is quarter specific. I think Motorolla's problems and Qualcoms delays in new Q, are major factors though. As is the obvious(curency, infastructure). I simply do not want to get blindsided again by q announcement, as I was last year. Third:In response to friends(you know who you are)who feel my posts are overly negative, and thought I was short. Im not. I find articles and post them because im curious about peoples opinion's. I assume most longs here believe in their conviction of the great Q and these stories should not sway them, as a long thats not my intention. fourth and finally I tend to play devils advocate because I like to try to see other side of the coin, and have understanding of all possible problems. I have a large stake in Qcom(realitive). thanks P.S. I have also been made aware of my poor spelling, I am dyslexic and usually to busy to find a dictionary. I also tend to write stream of thought. I will try to keep the spelling under control.
