Hi Gino, can you post this to SI please.

Greg From Edmonton here to report on the National Petroleum Show 1998 in Calgary. It's been a looong day, I attended the show from 10AM opening through til 6PM close. AND drove 600km to get there and back. My primary purpose was to seek employment, and secondly to meet the people from Napier and Aquasol.

Of course the ICI coatings booth was my first destination.ÿ The booth was located waaaay in the back corner, upper level.ÿ Ron Graham was there, he and I have gotten quite familiar.ÿ I indicated my interest to meet all the folks from Napier and Aquasol.ÿ That's when I learned that Brad and Sergio from Napier attended the show and had left after the previous day. Too bad I missed them, something about them not having accomodations available so they stayed with a relative.

No wonder, this was the world's largest oil and gas trade show (held every two years).ÿ Several exibitors commented that the crowd traffic was quite ample this year. All accomodations in Calgary were completely booked.

Everyone seemed to carry a cell phone. I heard a few people commenting on the cell phone traffic, it was difficult to get a signal because all the channels must have been busy. That must explain why my phone rang only once... briefly! David's calls didn't seem to get through until I left the site, where he finally caught up with me as I was on my way towards Edmonton.

There were no shortage of interesting things, one would need at least two full days to see it all. I had only one day, and was determined to make the most of it. Four buildings plus outside exhibits. I worked through almost three buildings, plus outside exhibits. I was busy from start to finish and didn't even take time to eat. This is unusual for me, as my determined appetite is quite renowned!

In the morning, Ron had prepared a sample demonstration of the stripping agent's capabilities. Ron had shown me test samples of SV-35 before. I would say that its odor is quite mild and perhaps a bit sweet, itÿ or Aquasol personnel, it was a good day. I saw many interesting things, made many contacts, and found many potential job leads.
