Party, why don't you call Mary and Heather and read this press release to THEM? Then ask them if they agree that the company is planning a merger.

I'd be interested in finding out if you can get them to reply with a simple "yes", rather than hedging by repeating that the are "pursuing a business combination".

It might help to ask them to answer "yes or no".
