While poking around their web site:

cx-en.com

I learned that their Vitsab division has come out with tags that can be applied to packaged salads, yogurt, etc, which can show when a product is no longer fit for sale. This technology could replace DATE STAMPS. This is BIG for grocery stores which throw out a lot of their profit margin on expired date stamped goods. These dates are based on an "average" shelf life. With proper handling and storage, many foods last well beyond their "average" shelf life. If the Vitsab label says it is still good, then the store can sell these products instead of throwing them away. Great for the bottom line in a tight profit industry.
