Daniel, From a previous post by Harvey news.com What's not to understand, Apple makes a platform, gives vendors access to "trade" secrets so they can compete, then pulls the rug when ever they feel like. Seems just like the recent filing against Intel by the FTC, and I don't think Be even had a lawsuit against Apple. Seems Be decided to port to x86 to get away from the monopoly power Apple holds over the Mac platform. Didn't Apple once or twice encourage clones then pull the rug, then waffle back and forth a few more times. I agree with you, cute box, never had a need for one. Re: Merced, yup from all press accounts and public statements by Intel it's going to be a bit later than first expected. I guess history is forgotten too quickley, I don't recall any new chip shipping on time. I think the Pentium was 12-15 months late compared to the first public time schedules. As for HPUX-IE haven't had a chance, still fighting with HP's lousy print system. Seems lp -o <options> don't get sent across the wire to the print server. Of course HP thinks I should install JetDirects on every printer and setup queues on every workstation. Golly, then why have a printer server at all if every machine is a print server. Argh, the upkeep is too high. Atleast Solaris got it right, of course with an undocumented feature in /etc/lp/Systems, i.e. SRV4-Extensions. I'm beginning to hate printers, whatever became of the "paperless office"? ;-)
