If you rode a stock from 24 to 48 in six months, would you wait around to see it hit 51? If your timing is that good, you'd take the cookies. The catch with ASND is it's viability as a merger candidate; then you can probably afford to wait around. So then it's simply a question of whether that is the best use of your money -- is there another investment that could make you more money over the same period of time (assuming now to October)? For example, DIS is going to do a 3 for 1 split. If you had 1,000 ASND, would you take 400 DIS and get 1,200 plus appreciation before October or hold the ASND for maybe another 10K? Guess it depends on your style...
