Hindsight on that AT&T Press...excerpt.

"AT&T customers will be able to securely receive and pay their AT&T bills at any of the hundreds of online financial institutions supported by CheckFree, including leading online banks such as Bank One, Chase Manhattan Bank and Wells Fargo. Now, a member of a banking Web site will receive a summary of their AT&T bill when they visit the site, and with the click of a button, pay the bill directly from their personal checking or savings account. In addition, AT&T customers will be able to manage their bills using Quicken 98 for Windows software, which is also supported by CheckFree.

Via the AT&T Web Site:

AT&T customers reviewing their communications bills at the AT&T
Web site
(www.att.com) will now gain the option of paying their AT&T bills automatically from a personal checking or savings account. This payment option joins credit card payment as a method AT&T customers can use to securely pay bills online.

AT&T customers will receive these electronic billing services free-of-charge, although fees from individual online financial institutions may vary.
