Put an order in at 15 and then cancelled. Also decided to wait until next week.

Hi Tom:

Long time no chat,But I've been lurking here for a long time.
Finally bought back in at 15 1/2 a week or so ago....was going to bail today, but hung in there. Nice come back from the lows of the day.

Good luck!
K.S.

Hi Tom, Linda, Dan, et al....

I guess the howling in pain has turned into a quiet licking of
the wounds, eh? Or perhaps a quiet gnashing of teeth?
I've bought at 16 7/8 and 15.25, and feel 'ok'..., mainly cuz I know
there are so many in much higher.

Tom, if this holds for another week will that really make you comfortable
this is the bottom? Doesn't for me, though I hope you're right as
I don't really want to average down more.., though I will. I won't
be buying more unless it gets under 14, and probably won't do that
if it's too close to earnings release.

At this point it really comes down to how much you believe in semi's
and their business prospects. Personally, I'm starting to shop big --
just started in on margin yesterday -- got vlsi, adi, ahaa hoping to get
more dspg. I'm convinced we are near a bottom.

I think it's safe to say most of the momentum people have been
shaken out -- today's action was encouraging given the market.

I really hope we don't relive '96, but if we do, so be it. Semi's are NOT
going away, and VLSI's chips (and others) will continue to evolve
to add more value to consumers and will NOT become commodities.
At least the chips that do get commoditized will have more full featured,
higher margin, counterparts that I believe people will be willing to pay
for.

I think it's time for fresh horses and more whiskey..., so to speak.

later,
-Kevin

VLSI held up pretty well, even though it hit a new low interday. There is a
June 10 13G/A filing which apparently indicates Fidelity sold off their VLSI positions, over 5 million shares, which would partly explain the recent weakness in the stock. I don't have an Edgar subscription, so perhaps someone else here can pull the story.

Fidelity made a mistake, but in any case it's out of the way now.

BTW, seems like some new buying (blocks) in the past few days. Jim
