<<2) Plan to enter sub-zero market>> Dell has had available stripped down versions of PCs for around $1k for over a year now. they are not planning to enter the sub-zero market, they're already there and they've been there as long as i've been following them. it's been a market misconception on this thread by the bears and in the media that dell sells only $2400 systems. Their ASP is around $2400; the ASP and the total range of systems offered are really quite different. most businesses are still going for the $2400 plus systems. the $1k systems offer too little by way of productivity gains and power. as for the rest of your post...you could be right momentarily, but not ultimately.
