I'm not sure that FGII ever had a pricing edge over Asian yards.

There are a number of yards in Asia. Some are not well-suited for jackups since they are more used to "flat steel" work. Jackups aren't much flat steel work.

Asian yards include:

Hyundai, Samsung, Daewoo, Mitsubishi, FELS, Promet, Dalian, IHI and a few more. There are plenty of them.

Some of these yards are huge ship building facillities and don't much bother with rigs or rig repairs.

The shipyard business is a very interesting niche business.
