I2: The AMAT after trading story is on the Dow wire. It said it dropped to $27 but did not indicate the close. The drop is either due to a short story or the ASLMF preannounce and a combination of SEA jitters. The short story is that AMAT will preannounce Friday after close. I find that difficult to swallow because AMAT effectively preannounced a earnings disappointment during the cc on May 12th. AMAT then guided the street significantly lower from prior estimates for the current quarter beginning at the end of April. How could AMAT preannounce again for the current quarter a month later when the company is only halfway through the quarter is beyond me unless the bottomed has dropped out. I think the ASLMF story has some merit. And probably a healthy dose of SEA jitters to boot. But the after hour trades trades provide a script of what could happen tomorrow.
