Thanks Elwood, I just wish they would have said as much upfront, that way it avoids surprises, and if anything, provides a positive surprise if the company does it a bit ahead of schedule.

El,
Not a bad day for Compaq considering the routine Compaq news, and return of AH-CHOO! the Asian flu on top of Greenspan's wonderful comments. Bet tomorrow will bring an even more reasonable Yen price, higher bond prices, and an even lower Dow. This may be the start of a market correction.

Impact on Compaq should be low IMHO. We are not a great play for the Bears. If I was short on Compaq, I would cover and sell some other high flying stock short. We have never recovered from the last bout of the Flu because of inventory complications. Those inventory reduction pills are big and bitter things to swallow. Hope the BTO, and CTO shots keep that bug away from us.

I don't look for tomorrow's big meeting to pump the stock up. Just keeping it up or down a little under these market conditions would be a success story. Timing is everything. We need good Compaq financial news with good general market news for a solid pop up on this stock. Unfortunately now is not the right timing.

I have been looking for that booklet and just can't find it. So I think the billion dollar dream may turn out to be a night mare. If I do find it, I'm going to sue the lady for my carpel tunnel hands. It has ruined my putting! That should make up for my stock losses!

Roller Coaster ride tomorrow! Hang on tight, and don't stand up.
