Good morning Sonny,

Welcome back. It is great to hear from you and to learn that you are getting back to normal.
I know what you mean about almost meeting your maker. Somehow I too have avoided this a few times in my life and the most recent was last year while walking across the parking lot of a 7-eleven store to mail a letter. I think it was to pay some sort of bill or tax although I don't think anything is worth dying for.

The radical behavior is the market certainly is not for everyone but this is the price we have to pay for the long term picture. Yes I was glad to see that Compaq does not plan to fall apart and soon as the Asian crisis is over we should have a sharp rebound.

I am pleased with all the attention the press is giving Destiny although I am not crazy about my neighbors getting an impression that they are living near a celebrity. There is nothing like privacy. I think that maybe if this gets out of hand that I will move into a monk monastery and write chant music.

Stay well and stay away from those mines
your friend
Frank

SONNY ---Nice to know we have something else in common besides CPQ and a general interest in the TECH's and the market . I served in the NAVY aboard a minesweeper at LITTLE CREEK ,VA . The name was the US DOMINANT US 431 . WE had fifty sailors on board ---went to EUROPE and the CARRIBEAN . My rate was a second class ET ---boy was it fun for a 19 year kid .
CPQ reminds me of CSCO two years ago when CHAMBERS (CEO)said that CSCO needed to be a total supplier ( end to end ) to its customers . The stock has done quite well the last two years ---Believed the same thing will happen to CPQ ---their cost structure will be a lot less than IBM and HWP .
HOPE this fines you much better

BEST WISHES
BILL
