Bill: It gives me no pleasure for you to eat to crow. I was long gold stocks today, although not in a big way I am glad to say. My heart is with the bulls, but my brain tells me the gold market still has much short-term risk.

August gold now up a buck on access. Not much of a rise considering today's steep drop and the report of heavy Japanese buying. We shall see what the next 24 hours brings.

BTW, I am of mixed mind about this latest gold smash. I do feel very strongly that this is the final washout and it will be over soon.even if POG must drop another 10 or 20 bucks before the trough. A global depression is a real possibility if current trends persist much longer.
