IMHO there is little downside on Serfin.

Mexico is actually doing good internally. They have a surplus, and they are exporting like crazy.

Problem is the lack of foreign investments in the Bolsa (Stock Exchange).

The key for SFN is passage of the law allowing foreign entities to purchase the largest three banks. (Bancomer, Banamex and Serfin). The HSBC Group (which owns Marine Midland Bank in the US) is just waiting on the side - they already have a 20%++ stake in Grupo Financiero Serfin.

When the law is passed (which in my opinion will be very soon) SFN will be a double or triple bagger from here which is not bad considering how world markets are doing in the last few days.

In Brazil Credit Suize is buying Garantia. Last time foreign bank were buying Latin Banks there was a deluge of acquisitions of banks through out Latin America.

Of course keep your eyes on Asia - the current weak link in the equation.
