It doesn't make sense to me to short a stock while bashing it.

I think that it would probably be more profitable to pick a worthless stock, and then short it while hyping it.

Of course, perhaps the ideal would be to short while hyping, and then have a cohort bash while you cover.

So which comes first? The Stock Detective's "expose," or the decline in the share price? Seems to me they have had a lot to do with the latter.

There's no denying a stock can fall after Stock Detective lists it as stinky. Still, they do measure against a clearly laid out set of guidelines that they use to determine whether they feel a stock is stinky or not.

I can't speak to whether they have under lying motives in their choice of stocks to "expose", and to me, it doesn't really matter. I don't make a decision to buy or sell based on any one source.
