I am not as well read or scholarly as you, but my associate, Frank Veneroso is. He had an article published in the New Left Review late last year decrying IMF policies for Asia. Frank spent may years working for the World Bank and the IMF. Said they could not work and why and that a big backlash would develop. Feldstein and Stiglitz have come out since with similar views.
