Can you suggest a book that covers the topic from the Civil War
on to understand better the relationship to gold and monetary policy?
Don't know if you have hard of I Ching, written over 3000 years ago..
wise men observed nature and translated their observations to apply
to human relationships with their environment,,,hex 23 splitting
apart..death and rebirth..cleaning out the old to make room for the
new...the wisdom constantly points out that if one doesn't keep a
moderate course of action,it turns into its opposite..
re:year2000 I think it is a huge problem and not hype..think of all
those embedded systems that control basic necessities of modern day
life.. ie water.. those have to be replaced manually..
some are underwater..
just a perfect example of shortsighted executives..stupid cost saving..I don't blame it on the programmers(I was one of those programmers but we had enough storage to not fudge the dates)..but
on the heads of the corporations trying to save a buck and not upgrading..
once again,I feel quite fortunate to be able to hear your thoughts..
and see the huge picture rather than fragments which distort what is
happening..
thank you so very much..
bobby
ps.. I agree totally about what you are saying about pcs and speed..
unless one is into heavy graphics, one doesn't need a superspeeder..
but more memory and large drives seem to be a must with all the huge
core gobbling software being written.. don't know how the browswer
Opera can be so small compared to netscape or IE4
