Out of respect for Datek, I think i'll pass. WHen money is lost, people make a lot of accusations. Some might be warranted, some are made in the heat of the moment. I find no fault with someone who makes recommendations/referrals/suggestions, performs executions in a clients best interests. If they get it wrong, so be it, such are the risks of the market. Its when a firm does things that arecontrary to a clients' best interest, especially when a client comes to that firm to be serviced well. Most clients probably don't even understand the concept of market making and principal status in trades, and firms arent in any big hurry (except for firms like ours, etc.) to explain it...'oh yeah, let me recommend ABCD, and the fact that we're doing the secondary offering, thats not a factor'.
A firm's track record with the NASD says a lot about a firm.
