well Don no matter what you do in this world there is always a chance for anything to happen. SURG has an unfair advantage in the medical industry ... they have the same complication as you concern for Midalnad. That is part of the world and part of anything.

I think you made a great post but hey I can get killed walking out my front door, walking down the stairs or even driving to the store.

But I do them anyway

Don - I think your concerns are justified but perhaps what people are saying is that maybe the risks you speak of can't be avoided nor put off one from taking the chance on MIDL or similar company that runs the risk of patent based suits. The responses about new patent applications going in as modifications are created don't provide comfort either because it implies that another company could modify it and apply for patents of their own. This might lead to a suit by Midland, but these kinds of fights can be imagined ad infinitum. I've had friends also raise the issue of another company reverse engineering the stuff and going into production themselves, challenging Midland to stop them in court while they pump the stuff out. These are all risks and must be accepted along with the investment IMO. Gasoline politics have been described by other posters and are certainly a reality too, but I think hey, it's a big market and if DF144 is for real then there's a really big market out there and a tiny piece of it would suffice. Hell, even if they only sell it in Texas there's some money to be made.
