I short a lot of stocks. After each trading range is violated on the way down, you get a second opportunity to short at the old support level (now resistance). I don't see your point. Stocks don't behave the way you describe without extraordinairy news. You aren't going to see the PC market sudently drop off the edge of the earth. If business conditions worsen, you will see a gradual slowing first. There is plenty of time to exit. You are irrationally talking about a "crash" in the PC market. Be realistic.
