HiFi Release Confirmed

Sony no longer offers Zip Built In in its new line of computers. HiFi's release is imminent. Expect the Sony HiFi drive to be the first, and perhaps ONLY superfloppy to replace the dedicated floppy drive. You will be seeing brand new Sony computers equipped with a CD/DVD drive and HiFi drives ONLY. No floppy. This is a fact. No one is offering a computer with a Zip and no floppy. Period.

Sony HiFi's release will also cause a 50% reduction in retail Zip sales within 3 months. The drop in Zip sales will continue steadily after that.

Also expect a Sony Mavica 200MB Digital Camera-- Probably well in time for Christmas. Just pop out the 200MB disc from the Mavica, and put it directly into your computer's HiFi drive. many people will do exactly this. It will also be able to handle regular floppies, making it compatible with virtually every computer under the Sun. Just pop out the floppy and put it directly into the computer's HiFi or floppy drive.

Sony's shadow is starting to loom alarmingly over Iomegaland. The only thing Iomega can do is lower prices/offer rebates. = Lose $$$.
