Re: "I imagine DaPrez will declare a National Emergency and have all workers in all industries on standby as the calendar rolls over to fix problems and turn the switches back on if they click off."

Perhaps Clinton will be throwing his last party at the White House. Rooms will be renting for $60,000 per night (up from the $50,000 per night that they've been getting), because of the new millennium excitement.

More likely, however, the president and his entire entourage will have already moved out of the White House. He will have essentially wrapped up the last of his lame duck term and will be nowhere to be found. The new president will not have been sworn in yet, so it won't be his responsibility. Will we essentially be a country without a leader?

Best wishes,

I2
