No, Alex, I have not heard any discussion on early man being vegetarian. What is it about? I like amusements!!! I agree with your hope that technology will pull with us in saving the planet. It seems reasonable to believe that it will. Where you lose me is saying that protecting our children is more important than protecting the biosphere. I don't like to use the hackneyed image of "spaceship earth", but in reality it is all we have. How can you protect children without first protecting the earth? I also have serious doubts that we can survive as an animal species separated from the feel of earth under our feet, the sound of the wind whistling through the trees, the warmth of the sun, etc. I would not assume that we can really thrive on spaceships.
