I can remember back to being in a hunting camp and Ethiopia was in the news as food was being poured into the country. One non PC guy made the comment that was the worst thing to do. His idea was that by saving all that lived there the next famine would be even worse.

He had a PHD in biology and pointed out the swings in population of many species. Rather than seeing people starve [and that's tough to watch] we should condone some population control.
