*AV*--The portfolio is looking very ugly. there is no denying that. A very good short, a couple of decent plays, and DY holding its own have been the real support of the portfolio. As ugly as the porfolio is looking, I am glad there is cash on the side and no margin. So, relatively speaking, things could be a great deal worse.

I will try to put together a portfolio update over the next week. I am in accumulation mode right now and would like the benefit of getting all the chickens in the basket and then report.

First priority purchase. Well, I kinda stretched the truth on the "stock". I put together a package for the kids' college fund. It was comprised of 500 shares NVLS($30), 1000 shares ASMLF($27), 500 shares AMAT($27), 1000 LRCX($25), and 1000 shares KLAC($25). I won't need to draw on this account for at least 4 years.

If you want to know the "pick of the litter", I would have to say ASMLF as my top purchase over ASYT. I do things in buckets as some of the community knows. As this "fund" grows and doubles to triples, I will take the profits and put them into a safe utility stock to generate income until their college costs are behind them. This will be money well invested for their future.
