Pete, I'm no expert on investing. I would become one if I lost all my money couple of times, and be in debt to IRS - then I could sell advice to others, like her:

1 and 3 are near 52w high, and are being shorted by suckers, 2 and 4 are at 52w lows, shorted by pros.
Or, you're saying dipsters buy all time highs, if it's a buck off? that's a sucker strategy too. Why not buy it three weeks ago, if one thinks it's still goes up, when it was $2 lower?

PS there was some misguided "flight to safety" too, of course. CHV, XON, GE, KO ...
