With regard to option expiration; DOJ has recently investigated and got fines for market manipulation from a number of the BIG BOYS related to option expiration. Since that time at beginning of year; I have seen a lot of the pre-expiration shaking by MMs to unwind option position the week before expiration. There is probably less ability to claim option related market manipulation with that much time to go.
