<CPQ is 2 yrs ahead of INTC in 64-bit,'d continue to drive Alpha>

Of course Compaq (Alpha) is 2 years ahead, Merced won't be out for 2 years. The question is who will be ahead when Merced does come out? My guess is that Merced will be well ahead of Alpha at that time.

Maverick - Lehman CUTS AMD's estimates - forecasts a WIDENING LOSS

lehman.com

"** EPS PROJECTIONS DOWN AGAIN TO REFLECT TOUGH CHIP INDUSTRY CONDITIONS; ALSO, WE ASSUME AMD DISCOUNTING VS. INTC'S PRICE LIST KEEPS AMD's ASP AT JUST OVER $100, RELATIVELY LOW.
** NOW PROJECT 2Q98 EPS AT $-0.38 (OLD: $-0.28), 1998 AT $-0.85 (OLD:$-0.50), 1999 AT $1.15 (OLD: $1.45), AND 2000 AT $1.60 (OLD: $1.85).
** STILL CAUTIOUS ON STOCK PROSPECTS. WITH LOWER EPS PROJECTIONS, 1-YEAR TARGET CUT TO $24 (OLD: $30) AND ONGOING LOSSES SHOULD KEEP NEAR TERM PRESSURE ON STOCK."

I just thought you'd like to know this - so you won't be surprised next month when Jerry breaks the news to you.
