(AMAT could see revisions up - but first we need revisions down for FY1999)

Brian you will get your good news from Cu for example. The question is whether this will be enough to combat the continued PC related weakness. A recession in Japan means $1,000 or not people won't be buying PCs. Windows 98 may be the great Gates hope and it may trigger a lot of upside.

I just think the commodity chip companies are shell-shocked this time (as are their investors). And unless they have a few billion in retained earnings they will be playing their cards carefully - meaning they will take their time and one day all of a sudden you will hear about the upgrades from every single chip company and the semi-equips will be on their way to triples, quads, quintuples and heck even more based on some of the prices I've seen.

But has AMAT gone the lowest it is going to go. I don't think so. Was 26 a good price - you betcha.

The dollar cost averager should set his targets and let the stock come to him. Absolutely no point chasing the stock - it will be back soon enough.
